Adobe stops developing mobile flash players

Adobe Systems Inc., on Wednesday(09/11/2011) announced that they have stopped developing flash player plugin for mobile devices. This may be a good news for some developers and bad for few as well. They also said that they will be moving their partners to HTML5 technology for developing interactive apps and websites.

Users can expect their smart phones and Tablets to use the full advantage of HTML5 technologies in the future. Danny Winokur, Adobe’s vice president of interactive development said that, as HTML5 is becoming more popular and universally supported solution for mobile browsing, the company plans to develop using those technologies.

He also stated that the recent flash player 11.1 for Android and other mobile devices will be the final version and however the company will be providing critical bug fixes and improvements for the released versions.

The decision by Adobe to end flash player development, might recall the statement provided by Late Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs about Flash being more complicated for mobile devices.

This makes a statement very clear – “The future of Smart Phones is HTML5”
